Hayden Tengberg

MSW

Hayden was born in Harrisburg, PA. She moved all over the United States due to her father being in the U.S Army and has attended 8 different schools in her lifetime, including living abroad in Hawaii and South Korea. In 2020, Hayden began to attend The University of Utah and studied Psychology with a minor in Health & Nutrition. From 2022-2023, Hayden served an LDS proselytizing mission to Cancun, Mexico, and a service mission out in Cuenca, Ecuador. Through these experiences, Hayden speaks semi-proficient Spanish and has a deep love and admiration for the Latinx community. Hayden graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2024 and later married her husband that fall. Through her various experiences of anxiety and grief with being a military kid, to being exposed to international struggles and hardships on her mission, and to experiencing the loss of her father to brain cancer in 2022, this led to Hayden pursuing a Master's degree in Social Work. For the past two years, Hayden has completed coursework specializing in couples and family therapy, grief and loss training, child and adolescent developmental education, and received a certificate in Women’s Health. This Spring, Hayden graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work with specializations in Women’s Health & Social Work in Healthcare settings from the University of Utah.

Hayden specializes in ACT, EFT, DBT, and CBT modalities to challenge maladaptive thoughts and behaviors and to help the client identify personal values to inform therapeutic intervention. Hayden views values work as a key component of healing and for allowing the client to guide the therapeutic process in the direction of their own values and beliefs. Hayden is currently training in Gottman and trauma modalities to expand her work with couples and families, alongside her trauma-informed approach. Hayden recently completed an internship with LDS Family Services and has personal experience working with missionaries and families, navigating the hardships of going out, being out, and coming home from the field, as well as the varying complexities involved in that process. Hayden has also worked with many individuals who have suffered traumatic events, relational trauma, addiction, abuse, neglect, and religious trauma, and recognizes the sensitivity and vulnerability of these events.

Healing is a personal process that involves many key parts personalized to the individual, and Hayden hopes that throughout the therapeutic process, she could become a small part in that journey in helping you achieve your goals and heal raw spots left by trauma, anxiety, or whatever you have faced.

“Healing is an art; it takes time, it takes practice, and it takes having love towards yourself.” -
